Cornerstone Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Cornerstone (previously named Wird) helps with prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading, and athkar on iPhone and Apple Watch, with a Live Activity that follows the current prayer. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
We do not sell your personal information, use third-party advertising SDKs, or track you across apps and websites. There are no accounts and no iCloud sync — your data stays on your devices.
Information Cornerstone Uses
Cornerstone may use the following information when you choose to use related features:
- Location, to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction.
- Prayer preferences, such as calculation method and school.
- Quran reading settings, bookmarks, and recent reading position.
- Notification preferences needed to schedule local prayer reminders.
- A device push token and prayer profile, if you use the prayer Live Activity (see below).
Location
Cornerstone requests location permission so it can show accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, and location-based prayer widgets. Location is used for these app features and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Prayer time requests may send latitude, longitude, calculation method, and school to the prayer time provider used by the app. You can change or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Live Activities
If you use the prayer Live Activity, Cornerstone registers your device with an Alsaka Software server so timed updates can be pushed to your Lock Screen. That registration includes a device push token, approximate location (latitude and longitude), timezone, calculation method and school, app version and locale, and which of today's prayers you have marked complete. This information is used solely to schedule and deliver Live Activity updates, and is not used for advertising or shared with third parties. You can stop this at any time by turning off Live Activities for Cornerstone in iOS Settings.
Apple Watch
The Cornerstone watch app receives prayer times and completion state directly from your iPhone using Apple's Watch Connectivity. This data moves between your own devices and is not sent to us.
Local Storage
Cornerstone saves prayer preferences, Quran reading settings, bookmarks, recent reading position, and prayer reminder details locally on your device. This helps the app remember your preferences and continue where you left off. Cornerstone does not sync this data to iCloud.
Third-Party Services
Cornerstone may contact third-party services to provide app functionality:
- Prayer time data is requested from AlAdhan or London Prayer Times, depending on your selected calculation method.
- Quran audio may be loaded from Islamic Network CDN.
- Apple services may be used for notifications, location, and reverse geocoding.
These services may receive technical information needed to respond to requests, such as IP address, device network details, and request data. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Cornerstone schedules local prayer reminders on your device. Notification settings can be changed in the app or in iOS Settings.
Data Deletion
You can remove locally stored Cornerstone data using the reset option in the app, where available, or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app also stops Live Activity updates; you can request removal of Live Activity registration data using the contact below.
Children's Privacy
Cornerstone is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or tracking purposes.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
